Do you manage state land in a municipality, nature reserve or parastal? Do you need assistance on how to develop an invasive species control plan. Under NEMBA 2020, all organs of state must have a invasive species control plan in place by 1 October, 2016.
On 1 October, 2015, the Biosecurity Unit, Environmental Programmes, Department of Environmental Affairs released a guideline document which will assist custodians and managers of state land to embark on a process to document, monitor, control and manage invasive species.
The document is entitled, “Guidelines for the Monitoring, Control and Eradication Plans for Listed Invasive Species by Management Authorities of Protected Areas and Organs of State”.
